SOL Group, including SOL Baltics has taken important step towards a sustainable future. We are commited to short-term and long-term emission reduction targets under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Another good news, we have joined the United Nations Global Compact, the World’s largest corporate responsibility initiative.

In recent years, SOL has systematically advanced its climate work by:
– preparing to meet EU sustainability reporting requirements;
– expanding emission calculations to cover all relevant sources (scope 1–3);
– developing service-specific carbon footprint calculations to help customers reach their own climate goals;
– preparing Group-wide science-based reduction targets and a roadmap of concrete actions.
’’As an international family-owned company, we want to be among the pioneering businesses that take ambitious climate action and help their customers reduce emissions. Through SBTi, we ensure that SOL’s climate efforts support the global goal of the Paris Agreement to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. The UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, Climate Action, is a key guiding star in our climate work,” says Marja Innanen, SOL’s Director of Communications and Sustainability.
By joining the UN Global Compact, SOL also commits to upholding its ten principles covering respect for human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. In addition, the initiative provides practical tools for everyday operations, training, and an international network to strengthen our daily work in sustainability.
For our customers, partners, and employees, this is a clear promise: SOL is committed to building a more sustainable future together.
